His career spans both operational leadership and financial markets, making him a trusted adviser to founders and owners navigating critical growth and transaction milestones.
He has held executive roles at Pacific Brands, Globe International and Rip Curl, and worked in investment management at Besen Private Equity. As an entrepreneur he established master franchises for Cacharel, Paul & Joe, Zadig & Voltaire and Karen Millen, overseeing a retail portfolio from Melbourne to Beijing across the Asia-Pacific.
This blend of operational, entrepreneurial, M&A and investment experience makes Shaf a trusted insider in the retail and luxury sectors. He has led a number of significant transactions across retail, consumer, industrials and healthcare, and has been instrumental in building the firm’s cross-border advisory capability with leading Asian and European investors.
Beyond his transactional work, Shaf is recognised as a thought leader in fashion, luxury goods, home and design, food concepts and multichannel retailing. He authored RMIT University’s Luxury Brand Management course and has taught Innovation and Entrepreneurship at masters level. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Commerce from Monash University and an MBA from the AGSM.
